I’m on time today,
I must deliver today,
and keep promises.
The fright in my dreams,
fade like fog into the night,
as peaceful sleep comes.
It’s going to end,
that much is sure, I do know,
and so I walk on.
After it is done,
there’s a hollow emptiness,
that hovers awhile.
I’m lighting a fire,
summer nights demand these lights,
for the passing rights.
