I met an old friend,
And stranger things have happened!
Still a little strange.
They are in tatters,
My shoes are on their last legs.
They’ve carried me far!
As complex as simple is.
I met an old friend,
And stranger things have happened!
Still a little strange.
They are in tatters,
My shoes are on their last legs.
They’ve carried me far!
Poker or chicken,
Borish Bon Bon’s No Deal ploy.
Pound begins to slide.
See the moon tonight,
Waning crescent six percent.
It’s looking so fine.
Talk circles around,
This and that’s drifting about.
Then it’s time to go.
A morning of stuff,
Checking the list and planning,
With a cup of tea!
Cars shish on wet roads,
The rhythms of speeding tyres
Random and ceaseless.
The breeze rattles blinds,
Blowing cool damp air inside,
Releasing trapped heat.
Lay down on the grass
Let your dreams fly you away
Come back soon and land.
Come another day
Just as long as you don’t stay,
Though I want you too.
I’m walking along,
Step after step after step,
The road gets shorter.
I was in Camden,
An hour to kill,
Each minute,
Stripped of its seconds.
Tension in the air,
The heat thickens,
As clouds form.
Rain waits in the wings.
I took a wrong turn,
And down an old cobbled street,
A stranger did meet.
This was not my plan,
As we passed along the road.
We both said,”Hello!”
Well it’s a scorcer,
A hot breeze,
And hotter sun.
Cool is so welcome.
Hidden deep within,
A ray of hope,
Reveals it,
That brilliant soul.
Walking London streets,
Down the alleys,
Cobble stones.
Between old and new.
The way shadows play,
With the sun,
Throughout the day.
Creating moments.
A forgotten day,
Shopping and weeding garden.
I surcome to ice cream.
The cat ran a way,
The old dog refused to play,
So then, come what may.
