We salute you all,
On V.E. day, we recall,
Your great sacrifice.
And my great uncles,
Lost youths in distant battles
I never met them.
The ones that returned,
Didn’t speak or wouldn’t speak,
Of their time at war.
So we salute you,
All you brave ones everywhere,
Fighting for freedom.

Remembering great things that have happen and influence our times, out thinking and from which we can learn.
Monday 07/10/19 Thinking
Everything can be,
Worked through,
Except how to live.
I’m working on that!
Pleasure in the job,
Puts perfection in the work.
That is very true!
All paid jobs absorb,
And degrade the mind, yes true,
It is for me too.
All inspired by the quotes of Aristotle.
Thursday 13/06/19 It’s wet outside
Down London’s wet streets,
The rain is falling once more.
It is wet outside!
There’s a change ahead,
And things will be different!
Take them as they come!
What’s the city’s mood?
Hopeful, excited or dulled?
Each has their own bag.
Thursday 06/06/19 D-Day
A great price was paid,
On those beaches on June 6th.
On the Vict’ry road.
We salute them all,
All the soldiers young and old,
Heroic no doubt.
Wednesday 15/05/19 Rowland Hill
Roland Hill standing,
On top of a letter box.
St Paul’s behind him.
What did Roland do?
Penny post for all letters.
Letters after him.
Tuesday 14/05/19 Griffin Mates
They’re everywhere,
Griffins standing strong and proud,
Around London town.
Here is one I saw,
As I walked the other day,
Looking so fierce here.
Wednesday 01/05/19 Wren
He hid the design,
Of St Paul’s as it was built.
We like it alot.
How many were lost?
Wren churches in the air raids.
Seems, most were rebuilt.
But Gray Friars Church,
Remains just as just a spire
And two walls, so good.
Thursday 25/04/19 London
London walking routes,
I’m enjoying walking them.
One walk at a time.
Saw this church today,
Burnt ’66, then ’40,
Rebuilt in Wren’s style.
Wednesday 24/04/19 Mercury
Greeks called him Hermes,
Romans called him Mercury.
I think its artwork.
It’s hidden London,
Hid in plain sight, but unseen.
It is great to see.
Tuesday 23/04/19 Letter Box
It is sad I know,
Here’s a London letter box!
South of Russell’s Square.
I may take some more,
The Duke of Bedford behind,
Or Francis to some.
