I fall down and down,
and know I’m wasting my time,
with the weather news.
I am fall asleep,
into dreams like unreal work scenes,
that do not make sense.
The birds came today,
in a group they were starlings,
eating all my grass.
The light of the sun,
falls gentle like a feather,
on the spring blossoms.
The candle burns low,
the wick curled as in great pain,
keeping the flame lit.
The rain drops do fall,
heavy like great wet dough balls,
evading the clouds.
It is just nonsense,
words written like somehting else,
something with meaning.
I’m drawing the line,
blue like a thin, faint ribbon,
on the blank white page.
Riddle me a rhyme,
test the limits of the words,
next to each other.
Month: April 2021
28/04/21 London walking
When will we open,
and is that asking too much,
to get out again.
I used to travel.
here and there and everywhere,
just seeing places.
I’d walk Londons streets,
down back alleys and places,
that took my fancy.
Lots of photos too,
wet cobbled streets and streets lamps,
and black and white scenes.
I miss the walking,
to and from work and station,
and then back to home.
Well I now work here,
downstairs and in the office,
the smallest of rooms.
Guitars, cars and chalk,
model cars and one guitar,
two pack of mixed chalk.
27/04/21 Official
This month has gone fast,
so fast that it didn’t last,
and May is waiting.
It was a Tuesday,
but it had to be really,
that is how it falls.
It is official,
Haiku book has been valued,
at two hundred pounds.
Of course we won’t sell,
but if we did would we tell,
the poem may say it.
26/04/21 Hum a tune
Fear is a demon,
it plagues the night with such lies,
stealing all your peace.
I have a way out,
it is kind of quick escape,
that stomps it well down.
The moon’s almost full,
the photographs I have taken,
are looking so good.
walking on egg shells,
it makes a good crunching sound,
but isn’t that good.
Simply hum a tune,
do not whistle or sing it,
just feel the music.
25/04/21 Planning
This month’s going quick,
the days pass so silently,
like ships in the night.
The birds came today,
starlings in their their many,
eating from the lawn.
I got a day off,
to catch up and do some things,
but that is Friday.
It’s a long weekend,
so I will get Monday too.
and two shorter weeks.
The sun is out now,
it is lovely to see too,
for it is chilly.
Can I hear a cheer,
for the haiku poems here,
or maybe hello.
24/04/21 Afternoon music
I am catching up,
filling the gaps from last week,
some of them are here.
The shopping is done,
the clothes are washed and now lunch,
I’m making progress.
Some sour dough bloomer,
toasted with some chicken soup,
I like it simple.
I’ll play some music,
this afernoon and chill out,
and see what happens.
23/04/21 Friday – bike ride
Well, it is Friday,
once again the weekend’s here,
and some time for me.
It simply zipped by,
and I sat up to midnigth,
just watching a film,
I did enjoy it,
it made me laugh and relax,
the way we all want.
The bike ride was good,
I found my speeding again,
in the highest gear.
I had forgotten,
just how good it is to ride,
changing through the gears.
22/04/21 A Blurr
The morning coffee,
followed by the second mug,
and third mug by nine.
I’m pacing myself,
drinking enough to move me,
going for a pee.
The days are lovely,
outside and world away,
like a TV show.
The time’s flying by,
the week and this year so far,
is all just a blurr.
There’s things happening,
everyday and some are great.,
I must celebrate.
21/04/21 Exercise
I am out of whack,
reeling with constant meetings,
online back to back.
And overlapping,
three or four at times, insane,
I jump back and forth.
What a life for me,
I miss taking trains to work,
and walks in London.
I need to do more,
I am exercising more,
wallk, runs and biking.
20/04/21 Escape streams
The days do improve,
for the weather and nice days,
but work goes downhill.
Maybe free boarding,
that would be so good, like fun,
but it all uphill.
The atmosphere’s changed,
there is a new respect for me,
that’s encouraging.
I want to escape,
become self financing and free,
to do anything,
I am tryiung though,
this is one stream of escape,
but it is so small.
