‘Dragons sighted in Cornwall’,
Arthur King reports.
‘The day was quiet,
when loud dark clouds filled the sky,
and the dragons came.,
‘Flying through the clouds,
fire shooting from their nostrils,
a most fearsome sight.’
‘It was hard to see,
through the smoke and the panic,
as people just ran,’
The clocks have all stopped,
and the sun hardly shines now,
through the smoke and grief.
They left as they came,
fast and furious they went,
leaving the wounded.
The stream flowed down hill,
it’s chuckling waters so fresh,
through the new spring growth.
Time’s a great healer,
so they say, but do they know?
Maybe it is though.
Arthur paused to think,
then he continued writing,
should this go to print?
He closed his laptop,
finished his drink and got up,
then left and went home.
Dragons are not news,
they are the stuff of old tales,
and long scaly ones.
