Proud lions guarding,
This place down Chancery Lane,
‘Wonder what it is?

Creatures in London,
So many stand and guard a place,
So iconic too.
As complex as simple is.
Proud lions guarding,
This place down Chancery Lane,
‘Wonder what it is?

Creatures in London,
So many stand and guard a place,
So iconic too.
The most dramatic,
Fierce looking Griffin I’ve found,
Looking in London.

There are all around,
First found in Egypt, now here,
For a long, long time.
Greeks called him Hermes,
Romans called him Mercury.
I think its artwork.

It’s hidden London,
Hid in plain sight, but unseen.
It is great to see.
It is sad I know,
Here’s a London letter box!
South of Russell’s Square.

I may take some more,
The Duke of Bedford behind,
Or Francis to some.
It feels refreshing,
The first of the month, yes March!
It’s Friday as well.
Early train to work,
Might be tempted by breakfast,
Maybe just coffee.
14 MPs leave,
It’s time for change, it’s coming.
Brexit mess rolls on.
Lightly loaded train,
Speeding through the countryside,
I will soon be there.
The London Griffins,
Still survive, they’re well hidden.
Magical creatures!

I want to find them,
Photograph and keep them all,
Safe where I can see.
I’m here on the train,
The start of the week now starts,
Maybe coffee helps?
Just one more stop now,
Then a walk across London
The work day begins.
Went to Monkey House,
Nice chicken, later, sorbet,
Then the bill! Oh no.
Yes, Crystal Palace,
Won today to beat City,
That was good to see.
Out with my children for a meal in London that is always good. Nice to see the lights in the streets, and a real buzz of people enjoying themselves.
