11/11/18 Haiku (1918-2018 remembered)

Like many, I have cause to recall and remember a family lost in the wars. My great grandfather went all through the first world war, awarded for bravery, demoted for striking an officer, and probably a lot more. he wouldn’t talk about his experiences.

Two great uncles died in the Second World War, their young lives cut short. One shot by a sniper in Italy as he rode on a motorbike with a message. The other uncle died in North Africa a desert rat.

There were others too and I should mention them here but I think I have said enough.

For one hundred years,

We’ve remembered those fallen,

In the first world war.

In grateful memory of those that gave their lives and risked their lives in war and conflict, to keep and establish the peace you hold so dearly today.

10-11-18 Haiku

The internet is down and currently using my mobile network to access the internet. It is surprising the things we rely on and how quickly and dramatically they can affect us.

Then later as we decided to go for a walk the heavens open with some heavy rain.

Went out for a walk

And we got caught in the rain

Soon back home again.

I think this is a pretty poor example and I am hoping there will be some improvements.

Tomorrow will be a remembrance day related one.

2nd Post – 09/11/18

I shall be mostly updating this site when I am on the go, using my mobile phone. I will be keeping it short and maybe refining it later in the day or at the weekend.

Haiku 09/11/18

A haiku poem

As complex as simple is

As simple as life

For me, this sums it up. Taking the every day and seeing more in it, or challenging for what it is or for what it can be.

Got a thought or Haiku poem to share – make a comment, or if you prefer to send me an email, then email Poem@ this website address.

I write it like this to stop the internet spiders from grabbing my email address and then getting loads of spam.

First Post

I need to write more,

The blue pen needs to kiss the page,

Right words will follow.

This is the start of my daily blog, an Haiku poem everyday. I hope that something in the site will keep your interest, and even participation.

One a day will mean 365 Haiku poems in the next year, and with so many poems there will be many different topic areas covered.

It is my plan to publish these Haiku poems in their topic areas with between 100 to 150 Haiku poems in each book.

I want to illustrate each book well with images drawn, sketched, painted and photographed, to compliment the words.

Join me on my Haiku quest!
