The trees changing hues,
with leaves yellow, green and brown,
and an autumn breeze.
Do not be afraid,
to start all over again,
you may like it more.
She is sat reading,
and the sun behind her sets,
and she feels its warmth.
Month: October 2022
10-10-22 Futile Firsts
My train was cancelled,
and I waited half an hour,
sat on the platform.
Bright autumn sunshine,
can be very beautiful,
in cold azure skies.
It can feel futile,
with those poems incomplete,
but try merging them.
My cup’s not half full,
it is completely empty,
and time for some tea.
09-10-22 Streaming Autumn
Resting on the banks,
and the stream that trickles by,
catches the sunlight.
He’s sits nodding off,
drifting to a place aloft,
where dreams cloud his mind.
Do not wait to start,
begin to write something now,
a line or two works.
Distractions will come,
ignore some, enjoy others,
but make time to write.
08-10-22 Some Thoughts
My interest wanes,
and my mind takes other lanes,
to other places.
I’m scratching my head,
and hoping some thoughts will come,
but it takes a while.
A friend takes our hand,
and reminds we’re not alone,
along the journey.
You can not always,
have good days, but you can face,
a bad day with grace.
07-10-22 Writing on
Things I used to do,
I now wonder, if ever,
I shall do them more.
Where next will I go,
I challenge my blue notebook;
the pages are blank.
What will I do next,
I challenge myself again,
and the roll the dice.
It’s nearly finished,
it’s only a matter of time,
and some real effort.
06-10-22 Singing Creole
The guitarist sings,
creole songs: deliberate strums,
emphasise the pain.
Believe in yourself,
and take the ‘be’ in believe,
and ‘you’ in yourself.
When I am writing,
my pen’s leading, however,
I try to control.
05-10-22 Little England
A little England,
as Autumn is rolling in,
and evening settles.
I am writing words,
some sound good and flow freely,
like a flowing stream.
I’m still loving this,
well done Philharmonic Five,
so fresh and alive.
I tipped him a pound,
and watched it spin around,
in the guitar case.
04-10-22 Clouded
Clouds slowly drift by,
like a great grey clad army,
massing the rain troops.
Sitting in the dark,
and listening to old songs,
just reminiscing.
Things I used to do,
I now wonder, if ever,
I shall do them more.
03-10-22 Sky Train
The night sky tonight,
twinkled so brightly with stars,
making me feel small.
I can’t think of much,
just the train and getting there
so I can get home.
A scene from a train,
speeding along to a song,
when I saw this scene.
02-10-22 Cats and Apples
At another time,
and place, I began to write,
now I live to write.
Vision of a cat,
that’s poised and about to pounce,
but it’s just a bag.
My biscuit went ‘plop’,
into my mug of hot tea,
and it simply sank.
Driving down the road,
there’s a tree full of apples:
he stops and picks them
It’s been a long day,
but taking time out’s okay,
with some family time.
