21/12/21 Cold

I’ve a rotten cold,
snotty like the worst goo pits,
that just can’t be drained.

I’m spinning around,
looking for that firmer ground,
if it can be found.

Find me on Twitter,
and say hello, if you can,
it’s good to connect.

The winter sky’s screaming,
with biting winds that howl down,
and wrap me in cold.

20/12/21 Recovery

Back to work today,
from my home office at least,
but no video.

I went out three times,
and it was feeling so cold,
I wish I hadn’t.

I’m suffering now,
and Lemsip does work wonders,
psychologically.

I’m feeling better,
and that sleep will come easy,
but with weird dreams.

19/12/21 Running Nose

I have forgotten,
the things I wanted to say,
but I wrote them down.

My mind’s not absent,
it is present but lazy,
sitting in the back.

I have got a cold,
with snotty nose and sneezing,
and lots of tissues.

The PCR’s done,
and lateral flow test got,
now I will just wait.

18/12/21 IKEA stuff

Much better today,
though I do feel very tired,
and do close me eyes.

The Ikea stuff,
that I made it up today,
and needed some help.

There’s no wall fixings,
they say that you must decide,
what’s the right fixing.

The mist is gone now,
but hung like a cloud outside,
to vast to lift off.

17/12/21 Tea Drinking

I’m feeling hunger,
and eat all the Ginger Nuts,
and dipped in my tea.

The cold is now bad,
and the wet tissues pile up,
like fresh cleaned golf balls.

I did fall asleep,
for a moment, just a while,
but I can’t be sure.

Tea will always help,
hot and steaming in my face,
and I breathe it in.

16/12/21 It is a cold

I do have a cold,
full of sneezing and tissues.
for my snotty nose.

Some say it’s Covid,
but I know what a cold is,
but did a flow test.

It is all good though,
apart from having a cold,
and all that will bring.

I’m working from home,
in a little office here,
packed with books and things.

15/12/21 Travel to Town

It draws to an end,
and it is felt round the world,
we all wanted more.

The December ice,
gave way to cloud and cold rain,
that feels much better.

I saw a drone fly,
back and forth in a pattern,
with an overlap.

I travelled by train,
taking bus, tube and walking,
in London today.

14/12/21Coffee time

It is just coffee,
so everyday, not boring,
just a morning friend.

It will stay with you,
whilst you prepare and start up,
bringing you some peace.

And throughout the day,
it’s there as you make your way,
through the here and now.

13/12/21 Time is over

Time’s ticking away,
the seconds are flying by;
minutes close behind.

I found a spare hour,
and I treasured that short time,
and watched it pass on.

What is a lifetime,
except now repeated over,
now, time and again.

We scramble for time,
rush and hurry, stress and strain,
until the bell sounds.

12/12/21 Listen to the night

Listen to the night,
you will hear more than silence,
if you really hear.

The rustle of leaves,
on the trees outside the house,
that whisper something.

And in the cities,
the night speaks differently,
louder you might say.

Whatever your place,
when it gets dark listen out,
to the sounds you hear.
