The sun’s out today,
The grass is cut and hooray!
That is good for now.
The breeze is welcome,
Through my one open window,
That’s enough for me.
I’ve cabin fever,
Lock down lunacy set in,
And the moon’s waxing.
Month: June 2020
Tues 09-06-20 Dull date things
A date from the past,
Relevance now forgotten,
But tinged with sorrow.
The outside is dull,
Grey and no warm welcome there,
So I stay inside.
The things I must do,
Keep piling up and higher,
And dragging me down
Mon 08-06-20 Cool summer play
The days are cooler,
And the light is different,
The shadows are dull.
Summer in on hold,
You’re not required, it is told,
I didn’t say that!
The clouds play some games,
Sometimes high streaking the sky,
Or low and puffy.
Sun 07-06-20
The days go faster,
But they are not called ‘Fastdays’,
That makes me hungry.
It’s not about fans,
Or number of hits or likes,
It’s just for some fun.
The circle centre,
And the square in the middle,
How did it get there.
Sat 06-06-20 BLM
Yes, black lives matter,
All life is precious, the same,
And all need respect.
These are such strange days,
Civil unrest and lock down,
Then there is curfew.
What a strange, strange world,
I pray you stay well and blessed,
And in peace, go forth!
Sat 06-06-20 Stick Trailing
The line wasn’t straight,
But, no one said it should be,
So, it formed an arc.
Some say I’m cuckoo,
But I didn’t just fly in,
I have been around.
Trailing a long stick,
I could see distinctive tracks,
And this line was straight.
Friday 05-06-20 Stairs and bouncy floors
So, I tripped the light,
I was static and erratic,
Up in the attic.
The ladder led up,
That sounds heavy to me now,
It went all the way.
In this space I felt
The floor had a little bounce,
So, I danced about.
Thurs 04-06-20 The Sun Colludes!
I’m seeing clearer,
Distorted reality,
And vanishing points.
The sunlight colludes,
Throwing shadows on the ground,
And feeling warmer.
Weds 03-06-20 Distorted Reality
The days are the same,
Each blending to the next day,
Displacing the time.
Perceptions array.
I’m looking through a mirror,
With no reflection.
Tues 02-06-20 Tempting Night Air
Temptations surround,
Though not one of them’s taken,
Just a little taste.
The cooling night air,
Breezes me to a fresh sleep,
Where dreams seldom come.
The rose bush looks sad,
Resplendent one year and now,
Just a thorny bush.
