Another work day,
I switch the laptop to go,
And enter its world.
The train is on time,
It usually is these days,
And no refunds yet.
Month: May 2020
Sun 10/05/20
The days go so fast,
I really do want them to last,
Is that much to ask?
I guess that it is,
So I set myself to write,
And seek completion.
Sat 09/05/20 Weekly Shop & Spring Day
It’s weekly shop day,
Join queues and keep my distant,
Full shelves await us.
I broke the bank though,
Spent more than I should have spent,
I bought sausages.
Today is feeling hot,
So good to feel that nice heat,
And that cooling breeze.
Friday 08/05/20 We Salute You on V.E. Day
We salute you all,
On V.E. day, we recall,
Your great sacrifice.
And my great uncles,
Lost youths in distant battles
I never met them.
The ones that returned,
Didn’t speak or wouldn’t speak,
Of their time at war.
So we salute you,
All you brave ones everywhere,
Fighting for freedom.
Thurs 07/05/20 Lock down
The spring days are here,
Warm and lush they’re blossoming,
Green jubilation.
Lock down frenzy still,
Don’t go out unless there’s need,
To get food to eat.
The grass grows longer,
Sprouting shoots with long, long blades,
That must be cut down.
Weds 06/05/20 Time, frogs and leaves
Time slips by quickly,
A river running quicker,
As each day goes by.
The frog by the pond,
Waits and watches patiently,
Then the fly is gone.
The leaf let the rain,
Run along and off its greenness,
To the path below.
Tues 05/05/20 The Setting Sun
The sun glints and shines,
Reflecting through the window,
With it shards of light.
Slowly it goes down,
Behind the trees it settles,
And then goes asleep.
Monkeys came today,
At least one, pulling things out,
One or many times.
Mon 04/05/20 Not A Lot
I did not a lot,
Yes work, but no proper work,
Just online meetings.
A funny place here,
Life between reality,
And virtual life.
The yellow ball bounced,
Easy and without effort,
And getting quieter.
Sun 03/05/20 Eggs, Noise and Dream
Out to buy some eggs,
Lucky too, I did get some,
And enjoyed the stroll.
There’s noise from outside,
The clatter of a tail gate,
And peoples voices.
Sunday morning wakes,
Crying baby can be heard,
Or, is that a dream!
Sat 02/05/20 Late Blue Roam
Let’s go for a walk,
Then the phone rang, and she talked,
Until it was late.
The clouds shaped up fine,
And in cool splendour floated,
Across the blue sky.
I wonder, ‘if’, now,
If I could get out and roam,
Where would I go to?
